Updates

"I find I am so excited I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head."

-Red (Morgan Freeman), The Shawshank Redemption

That is how I feel right now! AUUUUGGGGH! Every so often I come across a mood lull (usually when I have a break in shooting)... then I'll do an amazing shoot, or get inspired by another photographer's blog, or get an idea in my head for my business and it will get me unbelievably GIDDY! Like giddy to the point where I can hardly keep my thoughts straight and I want to shout out to the world how excited I am! I truly feel this passion about my business and that is what keeps me going until 3 am and that is how I strive to be the best photographer I can be. And now, random thoughts in no particular order:

1. I just did an awesome shoot with baby Zachary this evening and I can't wait to blog it! I'm uploading pics as I type and it's going to be tough to narrow it down!

2. I just read the Bludomain blog and 3 of my favorite photographers were featured this week during their Happy Hour. Jessica Claire, Jasmine Star, and [b]ecker. It was an hour of people typing in questions and their responses. It was a tell all and had some incredible, inspiring information!

3. Upon my reading, I found out that Jessica Claire will be speaking at a convention in Wisconsin in October! AUUUUUGHHH! I SOOOOOOO want to go- she is my idol. Road trip anyone? I just mapquested it and it's only a 6 hour drive!

4. I continue to get bookings each day. At this rate, I'm going to be booked through October!

5. I decided to get white seamless paper for my studio. I really love the look of all-white and I strive for Gap-ad quality studio work. Gap ads are my favorite as far as studio work.

6. I really, really, really want a 5D! I keep reading about how life-changing they are and I decided that since my season is going so well I'm going to treat myself next year. If I continue to do REALLY well... a 50mm f/1.2 might be in my future as well! I love investing my hard earned money right back into my business. I'm all about trying to be the very best! (I'm so competitive!)

7. After getting a number of requests from aspiring photographers, I'm considering putting together some sort of mini-seminar. I don't know how many people would actually be interested but I figure it'd be a great way to try to help people out. I just honestly don't have the time to sit and email back and forth to each and every one of you. There is a ton of information to cover and of course, things just don't happen overnight. However, I am not even 2 years into this and feeling pretty darn proud of myself! My biggest piece of advice to you is let your motivation guide you. There is a ton of information on the internet and if you're motivated enough, you can find it!

8. Fall Photo Shoot Update: It looks like I'm going to have enough participants lined up to fill up close to 2 full day sessions. AWESOME! I am still working on picking out locations. I want them to be kid-friendly, but also new and different.

Okay... whew, I think I got everything off of my chest. See... I would have just BURST if I would have kept this all in my head!

One photo: My shootsac had its debut photo shoot today. LOL I really love this cover!
