Today is my 7 year wedding anniversary! My husband and I got married on May 12, 2001 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lino Lakes, MN. Our reception was at the Mounds View Community Center. The weather up until that day had been cold and rainy but like a gift from God, we ended up with a beautiful sunny 70˚ day!
I didn't know my wedding photographer, we hired a company called The Pros and a photographer showed up at the church and introduced himself as our wedding photographer. I don't even remember his name, although I do remember he told us that ours was his last wedding and he was going to move to Seattle to pursue something else. He shot film and we got 150-200 8x10 proofs back before they finally released our negatives to us a year later. Yes, you read correctly, we have 8x10 "proofs." It's pretty ridiculous, I've got them in a box and don't know what else to do with them. The photography was very traditional and I ended up paying $150 for a single roll of black and white film (24 exposures) which was shot at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis. Here is the most artistic shot of the day:
I could just kick myself for not taking the time to choose a better photographer! My dream is to go to some beach someday and hire an awesome photographer to "re-do" photos of ourselves! Ha, I should market a package of "re-do" wedding pictures because I'm sure a lot of brides feel the same way about their wedding photographer.
The day was fun and it was great to see all of the planning come together. I do regret not taking a honeymoon afterwards. We ended up going to Duluth for a few days to try to save money and go somewhere great someday. Well, 7 years later and we have yet to go on a honeymoon! Hmmm... maybe for our 10 year anniversary I'll plan an awesome trip.

I wish I would have found a better photographer too!! I have some good pictures, but I only have 1 or 2 of just my family alone. My wedding party photos are of us sitting/standing on concrete stairs no uniformed photos like I wish I had. Photos of my rings and the program are being held by someone so you can see thier hands in all the shots. And they didn't get them signing the marriage certificate! And I heard from many people that she was complaing rather loudly that she was upset that she was 3 min past her leave time! If you do re-do's I'm calling you up!! (I was the matron of honor in Stacy and Adams wedding!) Great job!!
