Jamie

Jamie is a playwright and an actress and needed a good updated head shot. I haven't really done any official head shots (do senior pictures count?) so I was excited and up for the challenge. Jamie brought along her boyfriend Josh for moral support and to be in a shot or two. These two were so much fun and I loved how her pics turned out. We even braved the FREEZING cold and shot a few outside. Jamie totally rocked these by the way!

Oh- and I'm blogging out of order- we'll be going backwards today.

In case you're wondering about the orange cat- Jamie brought it along to incorporate into the pictures. It holds many special meanings and has a huge history.

A busy week...

This is a pre-warning... I've got an insanely busy week with a ton of sessions to post. We're doing a family hotel getaway on Wednesday night, I'm so excited! By the time we leave Wednesday afternoon, I'll have 8 family sessions to post! I apologize in advance if I don't have them all up by then. Things are going very well and I'm so excited that I'm staying so busy. On the other hand, things are a little crazy and I've got a whole lotta things on my plate right now.

Here's one photo from each of my sessions today:

Nicole- I hope you're not mad at the "silly faces" photo I chose, but I loved it and it made me smile. ;)

I busted out the fur coat twice today! I've got a big boom of maternity sessions this week and the fur coat is now something of legend. This is the shot that pregnant women hope to live up to:

A personal shout-out to all of my expecting mommies who all look FABULOUS!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote in my poll featuring things you'd like me to offer. A referral program seems to be the most popular which is definitely something that I'd love to implement. For those of you that are concerned that I'm getting rid of the CD's, no worries! CD's of images will actually be a featured product. I'm sure you all know how valuable and potentially rare the opportunity to have a CD of your images is. Not many photographers are willing to part with their digital negatives. Once things get going, I'd love to start implementing the other ideas, but for now I will be focusing on my new branding and pricing set to launch next month.

Have a great day!

Dear Clients,

I booked a few sessions today and met with another bride and groom that booked as well! I got an amazing compliment from someone who called. We started talking and she said, "I feel like I already know you!" That was so wonderful to hear because I love keeping this blog and opening the door into my life. There are a zillion photographers out there and I am honored that I am being booked for me and for my work. Plus, it's always a bonus to hear someone say something nice about you! I have the best clients and I naturally want to do an outstanding job for you.

I can't begin to express how rewarding it is to be able to give someone a gift that they will cherish forever. I am so passionate about what I do and the fact that I am able to stay home with my children and make a living doing it is the greatest gift of all.

Sorry for all of the mushy stuff! I am just feeling very blessed and want to let you all know how much I appreciate your business and support. I wish the same blessings onto you and hope that you all have something in your lives that is fulfilling and brings you joy.

Email Issues...

*edited* Email issues seem to be resolved. My outgoing mail server had problems which are reportedly now corrected. However, any emails I sent out during that time period may or may not have made it to your inbox! Going forward, continue to contact me at olivia@oliviawagnerphoto.com, but feel free to resend if you don't think my reply made it to you.

Thanks and I apologize for the confusion!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It appears that I am having sporadic email issues. Some people have reported not receiving emails from me and I have had troubles sending some out today. I did a thorough cleaning of my inbox and it seems to be okay now, but just in case...
If you haven't received a response back from me within 24 hours of sending me an email, please try this account that I have just set up: oliviawagnerphoto@gmail.com
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I would hate for someone to think that I haven't written them back!
Valentine's Party
My favorite perk of having my own business is definitely being able to stay home with my boys. I had the pleasure of attending Owen's Kindergarten Valentine's Day party today. When I got there the kids were playing card games and it was so fun to be a fly on the wall and watch him without him knowing I was there. Then some of his friends noticed Aidan and I standing there and the comments started:
"Hey, that little boy looks just like Owen!"
"Owen, your mom is here!"
"Owen, is that your little brother?"
"Hey, those people look like Owen!"
It was so cute. Then Owen looked up at me. I waved to him and his face beamed with joy. It melted my heart!
Work updates and ideas
Is it really February 13th?! I know winter is in full force, but as I'm scheduling into March and April and preparing for May weddings, it seems like Spring is right around the corner!
I've got a gazillion projects going on right now. Almost everything is behind the scenes record keeping and business "stuff." The exciting part is my new OWP branding! I'm working on my website, print materials, and pricing structures. There's a lot to do and a lot to figure out. My goal is to launch sometime next month with my new pricing going into effect April 1, 2008. There is going to be a big change and almost nothing will stay the same. It's scary and exciting all at the same time. I'm ready to launch my work into the next level!
I've been finding some great photo albums and products that I'd like to offer. I'm hoping to get some sample albums ordered for display in my studio and to have photos of sample albums to show you. There's just so many fun things to do with photos, my emphasis will be showing them off!
At this time, I'm also trying to think of other services and session types that I'd like to offer. You know I'm a poll girl so if you're interested in giving some feedback feel free to answer the following survey. These were just a few ideas that came to mind but the sky is the limit!
Chase is ONE!
It was my first time meeting Chase and he is definitely a baby that I will never forget! His name suits him because he was definitely on the move. It was so much fun shooting him and he kept me on my toes. The red cape ones are my favorite and he LOVED wearing it! It's like he knew that he needed to run around in it so it would fan out. Those photos totally sum up his personality.
One proud Mama...
Owen brought home his first clay pot he made in school.
I think it's the most beautiful piece of art I've ever seen- but I'm just a proud Mama!
I love hearing how his day went at school so I started videotaping our dialogue today. Someday when he's a senior in high school, I'll pull those tapes out and remember when he was just my little boy telling me about his day at Kindergarten.
Yauheniya and Jeremy
Yauheniya is due with her first baby next month. I'm so excited for her! She braved the blizzard on Saturday and made the trek down to New Prague. She told me that she wasn't photogenic but I beg to differ! She's gorgeous! The fur coat made another appearance, she loved the previous photo I did with it and wanted to give it a try. I love the second photo... it's my favorite!
Joshua
Auuuughhh! Could this sweet little baby boy be any cuter or more photogenic?!
Sean and Aaliyah
Jeannette was the winner of my holiday card contest so she came in today for her free studio shoot. The weather was horrible and I had back to back shoots. Remarkably, everyone managed to make it in. Sean was one of my very first clients and is now joined by his baby sister. Sean has to be the sweetest big brother and loved to have his picture taken. Aaliyah was still warming up throughout most of the session and gave me nothing but serious looks but I managed to get a few smiles out of her.
