Happy Monday!
Just a couple of announcements, my all-day sessions on Saturday, October 16th are officially booked. I am taking names for the waiting list in case there is a cancellation. If you haven't already sent your deposit, please do so to hold your time slot. If it is not received one week prior to the session I will be in the position to open up your slot to someone on the waiting list. In all fairness, I need to be able to book the slot if you should decide at the last minute not to do photos.
The end of August and first two weeks of September were jam packed with back to back sessions so if you are still waiting, I am still plugging through those and it won't be much longer. Just an FYI!

I've got another business that I'm working on that I CAN'T WAIT to share with you... I worked on it a bit this weekend and it's got me all pumped.

Spring Mini-Sessions!
May is approaching and I'm officially back! To get back in the swing of things, I'm offering a half day of mini-sessions at a special rate.
When: Saturday, May 15th
Where: my studio in Lonsdale (hoping for outdoors but indoors as a back-up plan)
Times available:
10:00 am
10:30 am
11:00 am
11:30 am
12:30 pm
1:00 pm
Cost: There are two options, depending on the number of images you wish to receive.
Option 1: $150 | 5 high-res images on CD
Option 2: $200 | 10 high-res images on CD
I am starting out with only 6 sessions available but may add a couple more afternoon slots depending on interest. $50 non-refundable deposit required at the time of booking. Session types included are babies, kids, family, maternity, or head shots.

Keep in mind, I have no June weekend availability but will be taking 1-2 sessions a week during the weekdays. July, August, and September will be busy with senior sessions so plan accordingly!

Feeling the love... | Thanks!
I just wanted to say that I am totally feelin' the love! I've recently gotten so many new inquiries for weddings and fun shoots, as well as emails from aspiring photographers and random blog followers that are coming forward and introducing themselves! It's so great to hear that this little blog o' mine has connected me with so many wonderful people!
Last year was a great year for my business but so many times I felt overwhelmed and overbooked. This past winter has been a great break, not only because I have a beautiful new baby but I also had the chance to step back from work and reflect.
My challenge right now and for the rest of the year will be to find that perfect balance of work and play. I will be cutting back on weddings and sessions so if you have specific dates in mind it's never too early to get on the schedule!
A couple of heads up:
June weekends are booked
November weekends are booked
These are filled with weddings and I will not be booking on Sundays. Please plan accordingly because I really hate to say "no" when contacted for a session but this year I am sticking to my rules as a promise to Oliver. :)

Deadline for photo orders| Please read
Just a reminder to get those photo orders in! Please submit orders by Monday, January 25th. This ensures that I will be able to get them processed in time.
I also ask that you NOT place any orders on the online gallery in February. The gallery runs on an automated system and I cannot guarantee that I will get to them in a timely manner and the prints will ship out without any retouching. If this happens, I will not be able to refund your money.

Availability (or lack of)
Hello loyal blog readers and clients!
I just wanted to touch base on my lack of availability for September and October. I am currently 99% blocked until November. As much as I'd love to squeeze everyone in, at this point there is just no more room in my schedule. Unless I give up on sleep. :(
It's a very busy time for photographers, we're finishing up summer weddings, senior photos are in full swing, and families are wanting to book for fall colors and holiday card photos. School has also started up which makes certain days a bit easier for me but at the same time, I am out shooting almost every night of the week and I just hate to only see my kids after school for 15 minutes and then have to take off for a shoot. I always wanted to be that mom who had freshly baked chocolate chip cookies made when my kids got home from school. :) I've been working so much that my 5 year old said to me, "Mama, when I grow up I don't want to be on the computer all of the time so I don't want to be a photographer."
So this is me drawing the line. I love my job and I want to continue to love it and that means finding some work/life balance.
If you want to schedule please look into November and December! It's difficult to say no, but please try to understand. Thanks!

Blog overload coming soon!
This little part of my life has been neglected due to the other little part of my life (growing in my belly)! I've been so tired at night and haven't been able to do much after 8 pm. If you know me, you know that I'm usually a night owl up until 1 or 2 am so this has really been a big challenge for me! Thankfully I haven't been nauseous this time around (nor with my other pregnancies). I think that God knows I wouldn't be able to handle it so he goes easy on me. :) I'm nearing my second trimester and I feel like I am getting more and more energy each day which feels fabulous!
I have SO many photos to post and exciting news to catch up on! I am finally getting around to working on wedding posts which this blog has been lacking all summer. It's just a LOT of work to put up a wedding post so you understand, right? I also have exciting studio news! Yeah, you remember that place I got back in March? I haven't really spoken of it since there wasn't much to talk about. We started working on it and never finished it so it's been on the back burner all summer once weddings picked up. I have since booked a professional painter and plans are underway to finish it up! I'm so excited, the finished product is in my head and I can't wait to show it to you soon! I'm even more excited to not have to do any of the work. :)

October Portraits
Hello blog friends!
I've been so busy with EVERYTHING but just wanted to give a quick update on fall booking. I know it's crazy to start thinking of fall portraits when it's still winter but due to a crazy amount of weddings I am taking on for October, I will be scheduling a limited amount of portraits in October 2009. I will be taking one family shoot per week, on a weekday during the 4 weeks in October. Since the weddings are on Friday and/or Saturday of each weekend, I am keeping Sundays sacred for my own personal sanity and to spend time with my family. This means there are NO Saturdays or Sundays available in October! If you were planning on a fall shoot, please keep this in mind as it's going to kill me to turn people away come September but I do have my limits and want to keep quality top priority. If I remember correctly, 5 pm appointments were blessed with some amazing light that time of year! As of now, I do have November 7th and 8th open if you wanted to schedule outdoors before it starts to get too cold. I am possibly thinking of doing an all day shoot up in the cities on Saturday, September 26th if I don't end up booking a wedding that weekend. There usually isn't fall colors that early though. :(
For now, here are a couple of pictures of Aidan with his birthday cake. He was a bit conflicted this year... he wanted Iron Man invitations but a Wall-E birthday cake. Thursday the 26th is his actual birthday and we're celebrating with some family hotel water park fun! The big family celebration is always fun but so hectic so I am looking forward to a bit of a mini-getaway!
