Oliver | 16 weeks

Is 16 weeks a landmark deserving of a photo shoot? If Oliver is happy and smiley in his Bumbo seat it is! His blue eyes are fading away. :( In certain light you can see them so maybe a bit of the pigment will stick around.

By the way, where is this kid's hair? Owen was born with a full head of hair and with Aidan, we were shaving his head at this age so that it would all grow out evenly (he had a crazy mohawk). Oliver is our baldy baby!

Mother & Daughter Sessions

The mother and daughter sessions went well! I had conversations with many of the mothers and there seems to be a consensus that as mothers we are never in any photos with our children! We can only hope our children remember us, but probably not what we looked like at the time. Some moms hate to have their photo taken or put it off in the hopes that they'll lose 10 more pounds or wait until they're dressed better. The reality is, our kids don't care what we look like, they just want to have memories to look back on of their mother.

I am so glad that these moms came out today. Here is a sneak peek of some of the wonderful images we captured. I will for sure do this again later this year so make a promise to yourself that you will sign up! I will be planning another day of sessions toward the end of the summer. It would be a great time to capture the kids before the start of another school year and before they grow to be another year older!

If you would like to order any jewelry from Stella and Dot, my online trunk show will be available for one more week. You can access it here. Thanks!

Lucina | 96 years old

I had the honor of photographing 96 year old Lucina. I can only imagine the incredible life she has lived. It's so important to capture the ones you love!

Kenley | 8 months | On Location

It was so fun to see Kenley again. She is already starting to crawl! It's hard to believe that soon Oliver will start doing such things. We shot at Como Park today amongst a few dozen field trips (barely exaggerating!). I thought these turned out so cute and I wanted to get them up for Kenley's blog stalking mom. :)

This is Kenley's baptism dress- love these!
I love- her arm rolls of course, but also her little hairs blowing in the wind. Very glam!

I love these relaxed family portraits, still capturing the family but no stress about not everyone looking and smiling at the camera.

Kenley loves mommy's bling!
...and something else too!

Oh. my. goodness.

As requested, Kenley's butt shot crawling away. "The End."
Thanks J & J!

Owen is 8!

Owen celebrated his 8th birthday on Sunday. I survived his first party with 8 of his classmates over for a total of 12 kids including his cousins. The boys had a squirt gun fight and we had the perfect hot sunny day for it. I love to have outdoor parties for him since my other two boys have their birthday in February. There really isn't much you can do during February in MN! I just can't believe he's 8! If I had the time and was more organized, I would put together a collage of all of his birthday photos so you could see the changes. But since I'm not, you'll have to settle for his 8 year photo. It's hard at this age to get a decent photo where he's not hamming it up and acting goofy!
The morning of his birthday, there were some special Oliver & Daddy moments going on at the breakfast table that I just had to capture.

I love this and how he is looking up at him:

I just can't believe he's this little baby with personality now and not just a sleepy newborn. It happens so quickly!
