Availability (or lack of)

Hello loyal blog readers and clients!

I just wanted to touch base on my lack of availability for September and October. I am currently 99% blocked until November. As much as I'd love to squeeze everyone in, at this point there is just no more room in my schedule. Unless I give up on sleep. :(

It's a very busy time for photographers, we're finishing up summer weddings, senior photos are in full swing, and families are wanting to book for fall colors and holiday card photos. School has also started up which makes certain days a bit easier for me but at the same time, I am out shooting almost every night of the week and I just hate to only see my kids after school for 15 minutes and then have to take off for a shoot. I always wanted to be that mom who had freshly baked chocolate chip cookies made when my kids got home from school. :) I've been working so much that my 5 year old said to me, "Mama, when I grow up I don't want to be on the computer all of the time so I don't want to be a photographer."

So this is me drawing the line. I love my job and I want to continue to love it and that means finding some work/life balance.

If you want to schedule please look into November and December! It's difficult to say no, but please try to understand. Thanks!

Adelaide and Elena

Adelaide is a new big sister! Elena came 11 days early but was still a little peanut when I photographed her.

Sweet, sweet baby!
Love this.

Cash

I'm working hard on doing more blogging! For now here's a few of sweet little Cash.
I love this. I want one just like it with each of my boys.
The life of a toddler... always on the run!

Kyle- New Prague High School Senior

I loved Kyle's enthusiasm for his senior pictures. He had definite ideas in mind and wanted to shoot in Minneapolis to capture the essence of the city, his favorite place! He is very artistic and was open to try anything and everything. He has a passion for photography, theater, and music. We carpooled up to the city so we had lots of time to talk and get to know each other. By the time we started shooting we were old friends! Kyle is also very good friends with Charlie, whose post is below.

I thought it would be cool for him to have a record of what movies were out his senior year:

I wanted him to be reading a newspaper in this shot, but we couldn't find one!
My favorite.

Thanks Kyle! It's great to know you.

Charlie- Perpich Center High School Senior

Charlie attends the Perpich Center for Arts Education. She is a gifted musician and I got to hear a sample of her talent during our shoot! I had so much fun with her, can you blame me? She had so much personality and to state the obvious, she's gorgeous! I am so jealous of her curls! :)

Studio is usually not my favorite but I love how her shots turned out:

She rocks a Martin!

Wish I could post more!

I have shot here several times before, but here are a few recent photos of a kids session:

What to wear? Here are a few of my favorite fall outfit ideas! I've scoured all of my favorite stores but I am loving babyGap right now. Color, texture, and fun accessories! All of these outfits would look great in this location. I will try to add some Target ideas in the near future for those of you that are budget shopping. Also, check out Etsy for cute knitted hats, and Matilda Jane for cute girls clothes!

I'm staying busy at cranking out photos for my clients but I'll keep trying to blog more sessions soon. I am only blogging about 20% of what I am shooting lately which bums me out!

Me!

I have the pleasure of knowing so many wonderful and talented people and when a dear friend of mine offered to photograph me and my new bike, how was I to say no? Yes, this is my new ride! I have been loving it and by the way, if you're a client it is available for photoshoots!

Typically I have a hard time seeing pictures of myself but I am loving these! She did such an amazing job!

Me and my BFF Nichole! We don't see each other very often and I am so grateful to have these beautiful photos of us to cherish.
