I shot a wonderful session today which I can't wait to post, but while those are uploading... some random thoughts!
Wow folks... I am completely floored! Have I said that before? Well, this time I really mean it. Business is going so well, I can hardly believe it. I was out shooting today which I got to combine with a visit to my mom's house, which was nice. Well, it was one of those busy days, we did some grocery shopping on the way home, etc. etc. I get home to a flood of emails wanting to book! I opened them up to prepare to write back, jumped in the shower and when I got out there were two more! This is insane. Apparently I'm doing something right! Thanks, you all are the best! My blog stats have also been doubled on a daily basis lately, so there's actually someone reading this thing! ;)
I have to share a funny story... my sister is a huge craigslist junkie. She is always looking for baby stuff for Sophia... anyway, she had found an item she wanted for sale in New Prague, so she asked me if I could check it out for her. I contacted the owner and arranged to come over. Upon leaving, she asked me what I did for a living, etc. I told her that I work downtown and also that I was a photographer just opened up a studio in town. She said, "Are you Olivia Wagner?!?!" I answered yes! She said, "Oh my gosh! I can't believe it's really you! We have to talk!" It was so funny, I felt like a celebrity for a split second! Apparently, she had heard about me and saw my website and was meaning to book a session with me. What a small world!
GPS: How fun! I used it like crazy today. Owen, my 5 year old, now walks around mimicking the voice of the woman that comes from the unit. haha! "My addresses," "Right turn", and "You have arrived" are a few phrases that I've heard from him!
Ode to a friend: I just wanted to give a shout out to my very good friend Nichole. We've been friends since 4th grade and then she moved away in 9th grade. She now lives in Indiana and I have only seen her once since she moved but we still remain close friends. I must say, she was one of the first people to ever inspire me artistically. She was always an amazing artist and I have fond memories staying after school with her, working on the potter's wheel and watching MTV in the classroom. After she moved, we wrote letters almost every week for years. Yes... wrote letters! We actually drew picture notes to each other which we had to decipher to read, and after all of the drawing each letter only ended up being 2 sentences long! Anyway, I just received a wonderful, handmade birthday card from her today and wanted to share with everyone what an amazing friend I have! btw- She is an expert scrapbooker and very soon, I will be featuring her custom designs for you to order! What a great way to frame that favorite photograph of your session!
