Kayo and Scott

What an amazing wedding! Kayo is a graphic designer and I LOVE when my brides are artists because it definitely shows through all of their planning. No detail was overlooked and she couldn't have had more amazing venues. The ceremony was outdoors at the Lake Harriet Rose Gardens. Everything was in bloom and it started out to be the most beautiful day. Then, right before the ceremony began, it started to drizzle. Thankfully it didn't downpour and Kayo and Scott were troopers about it all. The reception was at the Calhoun Beach Club in Minneapolis. It was my first time shooting there and I am so in love! It was so awesome- I walked into the room and was immediately overstimulated with so much to shoot! I couldn't keep up with my excitement! Enough blabbing and on to the photos!I love how smiley Kayo and her mom always are:
Kayo had an AMAZING dress:

Kayo and Scott didn't have a wedding party but here is Kayo with "her girls."

As their friend spoke about how "nothing could rain on their day," it started to rain.

K&S- Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day!

Photogen-inc studio opening

My friend Eliesa just had her studio open house for her awesome new studio space in NE Minneapolis. Here's a pic of the photo girls and I...

Congrats again E!

Meet Linnea!

I want to introduce you to my new employee, Linnea! (pronounced Lin-NAY)

She is a student at New Prague High School and is going to be helping with my work flow. She's an aspiring photographer and is very excited to be working with me. I, in return, am ECSTATIC to have her on board. Things have been so busy lately and I'm excited to get back on track!

I really look forward to working with her and stay tuned for more exciting news to come!

Craziness.

This was the scene this morning 10 minutes before I had to leave to go meet with a bride. I was trapped in my driveway as they tore up the street in front of my house. Not only did I wake up to jackhammering at 7:30 am (this is WAY early for me!), I was stuck until they cleared out all of the debris. Thank goodness she was so understanding and waited for me!

This construction project is having annoying effects on my life. We had our power out almost all day on Wednesday so I lost an entire day of work time and now we got a notice that our water will be shut off all day on Monday! Grrrrrrr...

Myra, the boys, and the girl.

The Main Artery grand opening went really well! I met some wonderful new clients and also had some dear friends and family stop by to visit as well. I will post pictures as I go through them.

My first visitor of the day was my cousin Myra who has two boys about the same ages as mine and is now the proud mother of a new baby girl! She also had along the boys' cousin Noah, who is my other cousin Missy's son. It was great to see them all and do some fun pictures! I really love these ones...

I adore this first series of three... Jon, Nicholas, and Noah

Could not be more in love with Noah's eyelashes!
Silly faces...
Although this looks posed- it really wasn't!
Smiley Marisa!

She looks so teeny here:

This series was shot within a matter of seconds:

Thanks again for coming down Myra! Great to see you.

The boys.

It's been awhile since I've posted any photos of the boys, probably because I haven't really taken any! Owen dressed himself really cute today so I was inspired! It seems as if I favor one boy over the other when I do a "shoot" but that's only because usually one of them isn't into getting their picture taken so that's just how it works out. Suckers are always good motivators! :)

Customize your Blogger blog!

I'd like to announce a new service I am offering to professional photographers, aspiring photographers, or anyone who desires a custom blog. As you know, blogs are here to stay and the importance of a professional looking blog is crucial, not to mention FUN! I am offering a new one-on-one service where I'll teach you how to customize your own blog. You will tell me your vision and I will help you to execute it!

Services include:
-custom wallpaper
-custom header
-custom logo
-custom URL icon
-clean layout
-custom sidebar items
-professional head shot
-large blog photos
-custom photo watermarks

Best of all... I come to YOU!

My services cover minor revamping to a major overhaul and everything in between. Not blogging yet? Why the heck not?! I can also get you started from scratch and you'll be on your way to increased web visibility as well as the most wonderful word of mouth tool that no professional photographer can do without. I can honestly say that blogging has boosted my business from the moment I started. In fact, some photographers are using blogs solely as their website. A bad looking blog can also break your business and not showcase your work to the best of its ability. Your blog is personal and is about showcasing YOU and your talents and should really reflect who you are as a person. After all, clients are hiring you.

Not a photographer but just have cute baby and family photos you want to show off? I can also get you started on a family blog and will even include a mini family shoot to get you started.

But when do I have time to blog? Come on... be honest with yourself, how many hours a day do you spend on other people's blogs? Why not have your own? But I wouldn't have anything interesting to write about! Sure you do! There's really no perfect time to start- you just need to jump in head first and do it!

Please inquire for pricing guidelines. *At this time, I am only offering services for Blogger blogs, which seem to be one of the most popular free blogs on the market.

Grand Opening update...

I just wanted to give a little update on the grand opening this weekend since I've gotten a few inquiries for more information.

I will only be there on Friday, June 27th from noon- 7 pm. I won't be there Saturday because I have a wedding. I will be doing mini portrait sessions on Friday while I'm there. There is no charge and I'll be uploading the photos to a gallery for viewing. The photos will also be available for purchase directly from the gallery.

Thanks!

Two adorable baby girls...

A few teasers from a couple of sessions I shot this weekend...

There's so much I need to wrap up so I don't have time to post the whole sessions at this time but enjoy the sneak peek! There's more cuteness where that came from!

Shannon

My photographer friend Shannon came by yesterday for a photo shoot. It was supposed to be a photo swap- I shoot her and her kids and she shoots me and mine but I wasn't the least bit prepared so I just shot her this time around. Shannon is a fashion and family photographer based out of St. Paul and she's going through a huge overhaul with her business. She changed her studio name to Feather Blue Studios and wanted some promo photos of herself for her new website and to update her comp card since she is also a model. It was truly an honor to be asked to do these photos and not to mention all of the fun we have chatting!

I'm such a bonehead- I totally thought Hunter was only 9 or 10 months old because I haven't really seen him and the last time Shannon posted photos of him on her blog he was like 6 months? But he's 15 months old already! Where does the time go?!?! He's such a peanut!

LOVE this one.
