I shot Tash's senior pictures last summer with her horse and in the fall she asked me for some modeling head shots. She's definitely a natural!

Painted.
My studio got painted a couple of weeks ago. Since March I've been having to tell people that it's a work in progress and guess what? It still is, but I can at least show you the most major transformation. It's much like buying a new house, there will always be little projects that you want to accomplish but for the most part things are they way I want them.
Here is the space before I acquired it. It used to be an antique store:
Freshly painted! I still need to make my wooden oval sign to hang from the sign post but who has time for that?
Thanks to Nick Slavik for doing such a great job! He asked me to shoot some promo shots of him for his website and local advertisements. He has such a great eye for color and loves everything vintage. He mentioned using his old pick-up truck that I am in love with so I got to have so much fun with this shoot!

Sonya
I had the pleasure of meeting Sonya today while shooting a photo for her new book. Her new book will be titled PARIS DIARY: A Ten Day Account of One Woman's Adventures in France and is due out sometime in May. Sonya spent some time in Paris in 2007 and documented her trip with a collection of journal entries that she shared with friends. A friend convinced her that her it would make a great book so here she is!
It was a delightful morning filled with wonderful conversation of following your hopes and dreams and feeling beautiful inside and out!

Mary Ellen
Mary Ellen lives in New Prague and contacted me to help her build a modeling portfolio. After lots of encouragement from friends, she will be attending a casting call in Chicago for TV Land's She's Got the Look. It is a modeling competition for women over 35.
I am so excited for her to be pursuing her dream! Not to mention we had a blast with this shoot! Mary Ellen's friend, who is another NP local business owner, came along for encouragement. I found out Mary Ellen's husband is running for mayor of NP and that we have the same hairstylist! I really love being a part of this city and getting to know more people that live here. There truly is a sense of community.

Shannon
My photographer friend Shannon came by yesterday for a photo shoot. It was supposed to be a photo swap- I shoot her and her kids and she shoots me and mine but I wasn't the least bit prepared so I just shot her this time around. Shannon is a fashion and family photographer based out of St. Paul and she's going through a huge overhaul with her business. She changed her studio name to Feather Blue Studios and wanted some promo photos of herself for her new website and to update her comp card since she is also a model. It was truly an honor to be asked to do these photos and not to mention all of the fun we have chatting!
I'm such a bonehead- I totally thought Hunter was only 9 or 10 months old because I haven't really seen him and the last time Shannon posted photos of him on her blog he was like 6 months? But he's 15 months old already! Where does the time go?!?! He's such a peanut!

LOVE this one.

Jamie
Jamie is a playwright and an actress and needed a good updated head shot. I haven't really done any official head shots (do senior pictures count?) so I was excited and up for the challenge. Jamie brought along her boyfriend Josh for moral support and to be in a shot or two. These two were so much fun and I loved how her pics turned out. We even braved the FREEZING cold and shot a few outside. Jamie totally rocked these by the way!
Oh- and I'm blogging out of order- we'll be going backwards today.

In case you're wondering about the orange cat- Jamie brought it along to incorporate into the pictures. It holds many special meanings and has a huge history.
