Charity Event

I am happy to say that I raised $325 for charity today! I donated a family photo session for the live auction and it went to the highest bidder at $325. I am happy with the outcome, but a little disappointed as it was one of the last items auctioned and at that time so many people (including the big spenders) had gone home. It was great to see my fellow co-workers donating such large amounts of money on items and services all donated by other co-workers. Somebody had created an "all things Napoleon Dynamite" gift basket which included a DVD, quote book, talking figurine, etc. and it ended up selling for $625! Another big item was a homemade coconut cream cake which sold for $250! A couple of the big-wigs at the company donated dinners with them at their homes and those went for $400-$500.

It was kind of fun, I had never been to a live auction before.
