Megan & Paul | Engaged!

We had a fun session at Lake Nokomis on a beautiful MN evening. Hanging out at the beach is not a bad way to be at work!

Thanks M&P, I look forward to your wedding this fall!

Anne and Ryan | Stillwater Wedding

I got to photograph at Trellis in Stillwater again on another gorgeous MN day. It was a Friday evening wedding so the schedule of events was short but full. I only wish I had another hour with Anne and Ryan to do more bride/groom photos! Everything was so beautiful!
These flowers were so stunning. I had to touch them to make sure they were real, they were just way too perfect. Kudos to Amy and Amy of Mimi Design on their beautiful work!

The flower girl Amelia is an aspiring photographer!

The wedding party was Anne and Ryan's good friends who are also married to each other with children and responsible for introducing them to each other. I love how it was such an intimate affair.

The moment they had been waiting for...

Congratulations A&R!

Private Photo Lessons | Learn

I get a lot of moms asking if I ever plan on having a workshop. I'm a horrible public speaker but I can teach one-on-one. I am happy to now offer private photo lessons!

$250 | 2 hour session includes:

• A trip to your home within the Twin Cities Metro. Since this is where you will spend the majority of time shooting, this is where I will teach you.

Equipment. What's the difference between prime vs. zoom? Try out my lenses. Learn what's worth saving up for and why a nice lens makes all the difference.

Camera basics. You'll learn what all those different buttons are and how to use your camera in other modes besides automatic. No more pop-up flash in natural light!

Lighting- the most important concept in photography. Identifying the best lighting in your home. Where to place your subject. The best time of day to shoot.

Working with your subject. During this time we will set up a shoot with your children. Learn how to work with them. No more cheesy smiles

Composition. Center, point and shoot no more!

Mini-shoot! You'll also receive a 10 minute mini-shoot by me of you and your children with your camera. These images will be yours to keep. Instant gratification!

As an alternative or follow-up session, I will also be offering lessons at my studio. For $150 | a 1 hour session will cover any of the above information or advanced lighting techniques such as backlighting, sun flare, and silhouettes. Whatever you feel you need help with, we will cover.

These lessons are geared towards moms or dads wanting to make better use of their DSLR cameras and take better photos of their kids. Hope to see some of you soon!

Hello!

Sylvia and Grady | 1 year photos

I've been photographing Sylvia since she was 6 months old... now she has a little brother that is 1. How does that happen????

The rain let up enough to pop outside for a few. Of course when we were done with our session the sun came out!

Monika & Stephen | Minneapolis Wedding

From the moment I met Monika & Stephen, I was excited about their wedding and hoped they booked me. Hearing about the intimate details of their wedding, I got the feeling of them as a couple and couldn't wait to capture it for them. Did I mention that Monika is a photographer herself? It was such an honor to be trusted with her day.

Monika had a small wedding with no wedding party and she allowed so much time for her and Stephen's photos which is so important! Speaking as a former bride, I cannot stress enough that these are the photos you will treasure. These are the photos that you hire an artistic photographer for, not to spend 2 hours shooting posed photos with each and every family member. Of course, those are important too, but when you allow 2 hours for those and only 10 minutes for bride and groom photos you will regret it. It should definitely be the other way around!
They wrote their own vows:

This couch was to die for. It just happened to be sitting out in front of the building!

Monika's honorary "bridesmaids:"

The food was delish! Looking at these photos makes me want to eat it again!

The event took place at The Fallout in Minneapolis.

Thank you so much M&S, I had a blast!
